The Electronic Repository of Russian Historical Statistics is an initiative of Gijs Kessler and Andrei Markevich. Work on the Electronic Repository of Russian Historical Statistics grew from their long-standing co-operation in research and education.
Gijs Kessler is a Senior Research Fellow at the International Institute of Social History (IISH, Amsterdam).
Andrei Markevich is Professor at the New Economic School (NES, Moscow).
Concept, operationalisation and implementation of the Electronic Repository of Russian Historical Statistics are the sole responsability of Gijs Kessler and Andrei Markevich. Data were gathered and compiled under their supervision and co-ordination by a team of researchers based in Moscow and St. Petersburg in 2010-2014.
